Although I accept that North had an awkward choice, it didn't surprise me to see that North bid 4NT Blackwood "at the table" - I don't like it! Personally, I'd like to know what's wrong with 4? Having shown a very big hand, South would be shapely and highly unlikely to pass, and at least North will have shown where his values lay. South leapt to 6 to show his suit unambiguously and North correctly decided to pass.
