I have no doubt that North would have made one more try even had South bid 4heart, so I suspect that 6heart would be the final destination whatever the sequence. You might argue that North-South ought to bid 7heart on the basis that it could be a "Five or Seven" hand - if they lead a club you will have to have to take the diamond finesse anyway, and if it wins then 13 tricks are very likely. Another case of Might as well be hanged for a sheep as a lamb.

Back to the business:- the spade lead has given you a valuable tempo in 6heart. How will you best exploit it?
