The raise of fourth-suit-forcing is a very useful yes-I-like-my-hand-but-I-haven't-a-clue-where-we're-going catch-all. Sometimes I wish there was a yes-I-like-my-hand-but-I-haven't-a-clue-what-I-am-doing catch-all bid too - very useful when the brain fog descends. In today's hand the pitiful crutch, as Reese used to call it, was joined by what might be labelled the pitiful stretcher, a raise of fourth-suit-forcing.
