. . . in the other room West opened a diamond and rebid 1NT - the equivalent of an opening weak 1NT. This looks fairly disgusting to me - particularly at this vulnerability. A diamond went to the king and ace and declarer played a club. South won clubQ and torrent of diamonds came next. Dummy was put through the wringer and eventually West was five off and minus 500! The excellent result of their team-mates in the Open room had almost been wiped out.
