In the other room West opened 1spade and East had to make a lop-sided 1NT response. South bid 2heart and now West introduced his clubs. Eventually East raised to 4spade and Willy Crook was happy to double -
a) on principle - he needed a good result
b) on his good clubs.
On North's diamond lead declarer saw an additional ray of hope to make the contract even if the spades were 4-1 and clubs 4-2, so he finessed diamondQ. When South won diamondK and switched to a club that was two off and 500 to N-S.
