4heart do I hear you say? OK, what if partner's hand is spadeQJxxxheartAQxxxdiamondKxclubx? That's a mere twelve count, but 6heart is a fair contract opposite North's cards. If you follow the other alternative bidding route of going via fourth suit forcing and reverting to 4heart then at least you have given your partner and yourself a chance of reaching a slam on minimal values. Nevertheless, North was no thing of culture and at the table he went for the agricultural route to 4heart and West led diamondK.

North's bidding may have been straightforward, but the contract was right - 4heart was good without being certain . How would you play?
