His partner did not appear enthralled with this development and decided that his modest hand had not improved, and duly signed off in 4heart to end the bidding. The South African East had no inhibitions about his strength and jumped to 4NT Blackwood. After learning of two aces opposite, he simply raised West to 6heart.
