Sometimes lousy bidding leads to a great contract. Sometimes you can hear tales of woe, almost always from the perpetrators, that great bidding has led to a lousy contract. Whenever I get involved there are no ambiguities: lousy bidding leads to lousy contracts, and I may soon release one of my finest efforts on an unsuspecting readership. Ridicule will surely follow.

In today's deal some more grotesque bidding - you may have to avert your eyes on page 3 to avoid being corrupted - led to a contract that was for those that like to operate in the fast lane.
