. . . declarer should win heartQ at trick two and draw trumps. Eleven tricks are now assured. Dummy is entered with diamondK, heartA is cashed and the diamonds tested. When they break 4-2 South rattles off the remaining trumps and West is show-up squeezed in the minors. This was the position at trick eleven when South led the last trump. West cannot throw a diamond - which would make South's diamond5 a winner - so he throws a club. When South leads a club at trick twelve, West's clubK "shows up".
Had East turned up with four diamonds and clubK the squeeze could still operate, but at trick twelve declarer would be faced with a choice of whether to finesse clubQ against West's king or assume that East had been really squeezed and play for the drop.
