South got it wrong by finessing. If West started with six clubs (and four hearts) the odds were still 2-1 on that one of them was clubQ. If West started with seven clubs then East would have been squeezed if he held clubQ. All in all it must be right to play for the drop of clubQ.

We've all been in South's position before, but I suppose as he played against the odds we should not be too sympathetic. Certainly not me .. I was supporting the other side.
