After about a couple of years of starting to play this silly game of ours, the enthusiastic fledgling should be becoming more comfortable with bridge nomenclature and begin to use jargon with a little more abandon. After graduating from finesse after 1 month through distribution at six months and sacrifice at twelve, we pass through endplay at a year and a half before finally daring to employ that most mystical of bridge terms - squeeze after two years experience. "..but partner, I was squeezed" is something you actually hear quite often. Me being a cynical old sod, I would say that usually equates that to "I wasn't following the play properly so I threw the wrong one away" - rather than a genuine squeeze. Someone in today's deal has an element of being .. er ..squeezed.
