North's crafty false card of diamond10 at trick two lured declarer into thinking that South had diamond9 and hence the diamonds would break 3-3. At this stage declarer could have made the contract by leading from dummy a)a low diamond and inserting diamond6 if North failed to play the nine, or b)a winning spade. In this latter case although North can ruff to force out heartK or heartA, two rounds of trumps mean dummy has another entry to the last spade winner. As it was, at trick six declarer drew two rounds of trumps with heartAK and followed with diamondA and another, losing two spades, a trump, two diamonds and a club in all. North-South +50.
Had declarer simply drawn heartAK at tricks 3 & 4 and continued with a spade, 2heart would have been impregnable - always assuming a correct club guess.
