Bill does not say what the result was, but an interesting line would be to cross to and lead another heart for a further finesse. When West shows out, you insert heartJ - so what does East do? If he wins, you can now cross to dummy's heart8 for a successful club finesse. If he ducks, you cash heart8 exit with ace and another trump - and pray. Your prayers are answered when East cannot exit safely with a spade so you win diamondK and finesse in clubs. +1430.

Of course, there is often an easier route - you could always have taken the club finesse at trick two! This suggested winning line is a little double dummyish ... Anyone care to suggest anything else? My own thought is that 6club making (or plus one) is likely to score reasonably well, but 6heart is recommended only if you need a top.
