* 4th suit forcing

Sandra inserted dummy's heart9 and ruffed East's jack. A diamond was ruffed low, spadeA cashed and heart10 led from dummy, again covered by East and ruffed in hand. After drawing four more rounds of trumps, diamondAK were cashed in the hope that diamondQ would appear. When that failed to materialise, South crossed to clubA in a four card ending. East had been forced to reduce to AQxx, and when declarer exited from dummy with heartQ East was end-played into conceding the last two tricks.

As you would expect, there was a swing .
