What can the defence do? Amazingly enough if East discards a heart on the first or second trick, although this now sets up five hearts for declarer, he only has eleven tricks, as he can not afford to ruff anything in dummy. And if declarer tries his original line of play it sets up a trump trick for East when the 4th round of hearts is played.
