Playing Acol with 4 card majors, the best slam of 6club might well be reached via a 1heart-2club-2NT-3diamond-4club beginning, but I suspect that most of our American readers would be appalled at the thought of opening 1heart with that South hand. No, after a strong No Trump start it is not straightforward to reach 6club without a suitable gadget or a well judged natural auction and, sure enough, 6NT was actually reached at the table.
