I led a highly uninspired clubQ and Eric wrapped up ten tricks in no time. Playing with speed of thought, he won the opening lead in dummy, cashed heartAK and diamondAKQ, ruffed out heartQ, clubK, ruffed a club and led heartJ from dummy. East did her best by ruffing high with spadeA and leading the nine, but Eric carefully covered with spade10 to score +620.

Note that on a trump lead and continuation, declarer has only eight tricks comprised of three diamonds, two hearts, two clubs and one spade, although West is likely come under pressure into allowing a ninth even if declarer fails to suss out the actual heart position.
