The Americans and English are usually on the same wavelength about most things, but not in the case of how to bid flat hands. Our friends from across the water often favour a strong no trump and five card majors whereas we are usually supporters of the weak no trump and four card majors. As a result, when it comes to bidding hands containing one four card major and one four card minor suit, we often have different opinions.
