Hand 4 is interesting. The majority of the panel chose 2spade, but as Expert B so rightly commented, The problem hasn't happened yet!. 3club was the other commonly selected bid, but I personally prefer 2spade because a) there may still be a spade fit (opposite spadeKJ93 heartA95 diamondQJ1083 club10) when we can choose between 3NT & 4spade b) partner might bid 2NT (spade10 heartA95 diamondKJ1083 clubA953) enabling us to find a club fit after all. Having tossed those two pebbles of possible East hands into the pond of bidding style, do you agree? Maybe 3club would enable any slam to be reached more easily .e.g. an East hand of spade93 heartAJ95 diamondKJ1083 clubA4 would become huge opposite a 3club rebid from West, and a grand slam is not out of the question.
Marks: 2spade 10, 3club 8, 4NT 1.
