Most partnerships seem to play 2NT as forcing in this situation these days. This leaves more space available for exploration and 3NT free for more a more specialised treatment for hands such as spadeAKQxxxheartQJxdiamondKxclubxx or even spadeAJ108heartKxxdiamondAxclubAQxx. By the way, don't try and talk me out opening 1spade on this latter hand. Holding three hearts you have no reason to avoid the major suit. To open 1club and rebid 1spade is to skew the message of your essentially balanced hand. No, 1club is for American systems and 5 card major advocates - sorry!
