If you honestly expect me to believe that you'd win clubA and immediately run heart10 then that would stretch the boundaries of credibility somewhat. The standard lead in a grand slam is a trump and you might ask yourself why East has not led one, but of course you could tell that the hearts were not going to break because of my introduction! I'm sure that you could empathise with those North-Souths who went down, and there were several who played in 7heart, but don't be too overpowered with sympathy because in some ways they deserved their fate!

One pair reached the much better contract of 7NT. Declarer won diamondJ lead and cashed seven major suit winners. East was forced to unguard a minor and the grand slam made.
