Declarer won in hand with diamondJ to lead another trump. Had South hopped up with spadeK and led his other diamond declarer would have been locked in dummy and forced to concede a diamond ruff.

By now you will have guessed what declarer should have done - play a heart. This easy to miss communications severing play is called the Scissors Coup.

As the play went at the table, South could obtain his ruff - but only at the expense of a trump trick. The two errors cancelled each other out and Indonesia scored 110.
