This trump lead is a nuisance. On a black suit lead it would be relatively easy to organise two club ruffs in hand, but now it might be more difficult if the defence insist on playing trumps at every opportunity.

Nevertheless, the contract still has many chances and there's nothing more sensible to do than win cheaply with diamondQ and play a club. South wins with clubA and plays another trump. Sadly for us, North shows out, which means that we must try and avoid South obtaining the lead again.

The easy bit is to ruff a club in dummy, but what next?
