My own personal choice would be 6club. Although you could construct many hands where it would be wrong, I have seen mostly good scores obtained by bidding very boldly at the first available opportunity when holding long suits like this. If it's the opposition's hand then you have made life very difficult for them, and it's your hand - then partner will have a good idea of what you have to help him.

However, at the table Simon's partner opened 5club, not unreasonably. Simon made a similar bid to the Dutchman featured on 20th April (see archive) - he jumped to six of his own suit.
