Although some players are very creative when it comes to playing more than their fair share of the deals, on average we spend only 25% of the time being declarer, so why is it that less attention is paid to defence when we defend 50% of the time. Shame really, because one of the most satisfying aspects of our game is to produce a unique defence that pulls in a big swing.
