As an experienced player, you know from the bidding and West's failure to lead a heart that West will ruff this trick, and she duly does. The club2 is returned and our beginner declarer is desperate to win a trick so she wins in the dummy with the ace. Having listened intently to a description of one of the first principles of card-play, finessing, she tries spade8 from dummy and lets it run.

This is the crucial point of the hand - you and I know what is going to happen, but I want to let them see too. West wins spadeK and leads another club so declarer confidently plays clubK and is disappointed when I point out that East's card is not a club, but a trump. Another heart is ruffed and West cashes clubQ for three off and -150!
