After some thought, declarer chose the queen. West won diamondK, a club was ruffed and over-ruffed and a further diamond was ruffed by West. 4spade-1 and East-West +100. It would surely have been right to win diamondA and cash at least one trump - when the diamondK and spadeJ drop all would be clear. East's unusual decision to ruff the second round of clubs worked well - the timing was perfect to enable West to obtain his diamond ruff.
