I sincerely hope not! You pass like a shot - after all, if you could have doubled 2club for penalties no doubt you would. You lead your singleton diamond which North wins with diamondQ and he proceeds to cash ace and king too, so you throw two spades. East ruffs a fourth diamond with club6, so you over-ruff and exit with your last spade. Partner, bless him, wins the next trick with clubA and leads a spade for you to ruff, and you still have clubKJ to guarantee +800. In the post mortem, a highly appropriate label in this case, East whined ". but I had 12 points, partner!". Don't EVER get caught overcalling at the two level with a hand like East's - it's a disgusting.bid that received its just desert. And yes, just desert is spelled as I intended. :-)
