If you were really brave, I suppose you might have considered a weak 2spade, but Judi Radin, USA's ex-world champion decided that was an totally inappropriate bid, so she bid 3spade instead. North-South climbed to the dizzy heights of 7heart - have a quick look at the full deal because I bet you can guess what happened. Declarer placed East with heart length and took the finesse into West's heartQ. N-S -100.

Several eminent players, Zia and Robson amongst them, have advocated the merits of making bids suggestive of shortage in a suit where one actually holds Qx. If you end up defending, declarer will often mis-read the situation, and this was just such a case.
