After East's double, there is every chance that the lead is a singleton which, ironically, gives declarer a much better chance. You get off to a faultless start by winning with clubA and cash heartAKQ to discard your two losing clubs. To allow for East to have the diamondK, you now lead a low diamond from dummy. If East had flown in with diamondK and returned a club, you would have to ruff high and finesse against West's supposed diamondJ. But no, East plays low on the diamond and you insert diamond7. West wins with diamondK and continues with a small spade.
