No doubt you guessed that the hearts break 6-1 or 7-0 and therefore you do not have 12 top tricks and must play low at trick one. This is all very well away from the table, but imagine how South will have felt. Worried before the opening. Hopeful immediately after it. Elated when he saw dummy. Crestfallen after he had cashed the heartA, and in utter despair when he realised that diamondK was indeed with West.

I reckon there's definitely a Sado-Masochistic side to playing bridge!
