You worked out that West cannot have five spades or he would have opened 1, and East cannot have four, because he would respond 1. Because you are going to need the K within East's modest point count, you therefore must assume the A is with West - but not the queen or you have two club losers. You will play to ruff out the K, but only after you have defused the defence's ability to give themselves a trump promotion. That's why you must postpone the deployment of A to lead a club from dummy.
