Last night I was indeed privileged to find myself sitting opposite the royal Food Taster and Gourmet (FTG). The reason I say was privileged was that FTG performed the bridge equivalent of walking on water. In twenty four boards he did not make a single error! He landed on sixpences. He found killing leads. He found the only winning lines. Awesome.
By comparison, I was in usual duh mode, which culminated in FTG finding an opening club lead through dummy's ace-queen stiff. Declarer cunningly played the ace, which of course allowed me to display my knowledge of advanced deceptive plays by dropping the king from KJ10xx. Mmmm.
Fortunately, we can draw a veil over my part in yesterday's proceedings and watch FTG in action.
