Rixi decided that the best line would be establish the diamond suit rather than take the heart finesse. Accordingly she won the lead in the dummy and ruffed a diamond low. She then played the club10 from hand!! The reasoning behind this was to gain an extra entry to dummy in the trump suit. Although a defender could thwart the entry by ducking, it would probably be at the expense of his trump trick ...
