It should be obvious that the most important factor in this hand is to beat everyone who is playing the contract in 3NT. From what happened at trick one - no diamond honour lead from West and the jack from East - that 3NT would probably not be a good spot, so you must play carefully for your contract.

When the deal occurred, several declarers in 5club played for a 3-3 heart break. When that failed to materialise, they ruffed a heart in the dummy and took the spade finesse, which was wrong. One down for minus 100, and same result as the three no trumpers. But one declarer introduced a slight variation ..
