Tonight HRMP was playing with the Court Physician (CP), the partner with whom I had an enjoyable game a fortnight ago. I could hear HRMP and CP having an intense discussion over the nuances of Court 5.21, which is the latest version of the five bidding systems that HRMP has decreed the Court shall use. I could tell CP was getting concerned, but I wasn't sure if it was because of having to remember the system or whether the royal pulse was too elevated.

After a quiet start, along came board 9., when HRMP faced a crucial bidding decision at the six level.
