Events in the other room were not quite so rosy for the Hackett family. The twins' style means that if they have a four card or longer suit, they can pre-empt to the skies.. and partner will cooperate by raising on almost anything. While this does lead to an occasional mega disaster, the policy reaps reward in the long run. Jason had a strong (for him) preempt, but he cannot have welcomed the sight of dummy.

Declarer made two trumps and heartK - seven light and minus 1700. Good job dad plays the cards well.
