Partner does not have a big hand does he? He must have made a very sporting double without heartKJ and clubAK. The two pointed Aces are your only obvious defensive tricks. There is no need to panic though, and you should duck this trick. Time and time again defenders can ruin declarer's timing by ducking. Here there is no danger of a declarer having a singleton, for partner will not have four diamonds on this bidding. In this case, declarer will probably play a spade from the dummy and now the defence must be careful. Whoever wins the spade, East-West must win their diamond now and play a spade, locking declarer in dummy and forcing him to concede a trump promotion.
